Trying to keep tabs on the release date of Rugby Challenge 4  has been like trying to stop Ngani Laumape – difficult to say the least. However, after numerous delays and miscommunications, Wicked Witch and Tru Blue have confirmed that Rugby Challenge 4 will launch in an Early Access form on Tuesday, 28 July 2020.

Announced via the official Rugby Challenge 4 website, the ‘Early Access’ version of the game will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and Switch players; and while details on what the Early Access will include, it will likely allow gamers who pre-order Rugby Challenge 4 to play the game in an in-development build with updates being added up until the final full release.

According to the official site “the focus for Rugby Challenge 4 has been to build on and improve the gameplay of our previous rugby games while retaining its essence with the use of the original signature animations, now spectacularly enhanced by the Unreal Engine.”

The Early Access should provide the basic gameplay modes, but Wicked Witch did confirm that certain gameplay features will only come at a later stage, including online play, a physical retail edition for consoles and PC, further career enhancements, and gameplay improvements.

Alongside the website update were some new screenshots:
