If you’re looking for variety, October is delivering the goods. There is literally something for everyone this month, with horror, action, animation, and comedy all on the cards; and with so many big-screen releases on the horizon, we’ve rounded up the best of the bunch for you to keep tabs on:

Digger

Release date: 2 October 2026

Tom Cruise goes full incognito in this dark satire movie about environmental issues. Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, a wealthy oil tycoon whose company causes a potential world-ending disaster in Greenland. Rockwell has to embark on a frantic mission to prove that he is humanity’s saviour before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.

Other Mommy

Release date: 16 October 2026

Starring Jessica Chastain, Other Mommy follows Bela, an eight-year-old girl living in a home with marital problems, who confronts a sinister entity that comes out of her closet. The presence, whom she calls “Other Mommy,” becomes increasingly threatening to her and her family.

Street Fighter

Release date: 16 October 2026

Despite having a few prior live-action Street Fighter movies in the past, the iconic video game is getting a new lease of life this October. This time, the film leans hard into the colourful, chaotic, and somewhat bombastic world of Street Fighter, with the likes of Andrew Koji (Warrior), 50 Cent, Jason Momoa, and Andrew Schulz all starring.

Whalefall

Release date: 16 October 2026

Starring Austin Abrams, who recently appeared in Resident Evil, Whalefall is a survival thriller that follows a diver who is swallowed whole by a massive whale. Trapped inside its belly, he must figure out a way to escape as his oxygen supply starts to run out.

Clayface

Release date: 23 October 2026

Like Joker, Clayface tells the story of another of Batman’s iconic villains and stars Tom Rhys Harries in the main role. It follows a rising Hollywood star who is left horribly disfigured by the mob, only to explore a dangerous scientific procedure that morphs him into a revenge-filled monster.

Wildwood

Release date: 23 October 2026

Wildwood is one of the most visually stunning movies of 2026, and tells the story of Prue, who has to venture into a mysterious and magical forest near Portland after her brother is abducted. Its stop-motion design and fantasy merged with real-world drama make Wildwood a unique watch this month.

Beware Boiúna

Release date: 30 October 2026

We love a good creature-feature, and since Anaconda, we haven’t had a good snake movie in a while. Beware Boiúna follows a team of doctors who embark on a local mission in the Amazon rainforest, but it soon becomes clear that not everybody or everything is happy to see them. Their sudden appearance draws the attention of an animal predator, the Boiúna.

Hope

Release date: 30 October 2026

Looking like a blend between Resident Evil and A Quiet Place, Hope is set in the remote South Korean village of Hope Harbour. It follows police chief Bum-seok (Hwang Jung- min) and officer Sung-ae (Hoyeon), who are called to find a mysterious creature that has wreaked havoc on the village. In the nearby forest, a coterie of hunters, including Sung- ki (Zo In-Sung) set out to track the beast and find themselves hunted instead.
