Mark Wahlberg has become somewhat of a chameleon in recent years, fully embodying a number of different roles to entertain and captivate audiences. His latest film, By Any Means (hitting cinemas today, 4 September), sees him in one of his most immersive roles yet.

Starring alongside Yahya Abdul‑Mateen II, Wahlberg takes on the role of a notorious Mafia hitman as he has to work alongside a young Black FBI agent to investigate the murders of civil rights leaders. The film is based on a true story set in 1960s Mississippi.

The film blends suspense with the grit of a crime thriller, pulling audiences into a dangerous manhunt where the line between justice and revenge begins to blur. Wahlberg’s performance is particularly striking, showcasing his transformation into a role very different from what audiences have seen before.
