With the Hurricanes facing-off against the Blues this past weekend, there was no doubt that eyes were going to be on All Black flyhalf Beauden Barrett, who made his move from the Wellington-based side to the Auckland team this season. However, instead of being the star of the show, he was on the end of some powerful running from former teammate Ngani Laumape.
Not only did Barrett get run over once or twice by the 97kg centre, but he was also rounded and skinned in a foot-race to the line for the Hurricanes first try.
Barrett did go on to score a try, but it was undoubtedly Laumape’s night, who went on to win Man of the Match.
