Adidas ‘Cold Blooded’ Pack Hits SA

Adidas’ latest colourway is a salute to Adidas of old.

Adidas has been blazing a trail with innovative and high-tech football boots lately, adopting laceless, collared designs for a number of their top-tier boots to great effect. Their main model silos are the new Predator 18+, the Nemeziz, the X, and finally an updated iteration of the Copa – all of which feature in slick new colourways in the ‘Cold Blooded’ pack.

The most evocative of the models is probably the updated Predator 18+, not least because of its incredibly futuristic design, but also because its colourway is reminiscent of the old-school black/white/red set up that the Predator became famous for. That colour combination is synonymous with Adidas Football and is a key theme throughout this pack.

The X 17 has a very similar silhouette to the Predator 18+ and stays in line with the pack’s overall theme by incorporating a very similar scheme. The primarily white upper has shots of black and red in the branding, laces, and the top of the collar that completes a very understated and subtle colourway.

The Nemeziz throws subtlety to the wind, though, and comes into two bright and eye-catching shades, the first being the vivid red/pink pictured in the main image, as well as the Nemeziz Messi colour that breaks with the pack’s overall theme with a black, grey and light blue lined theme streaked across the boot.

Last but not least, the Adidas Copa is one of the oldest and most iconic models in world football, but the old school favourite has received a modern update – the most notable addition being the in-vogue low collar, complete with lip that stretches up the ankle that looks suspiciously like it’s an homage to the original Copa’s oversized tongue. The cosmetic changes aren’t all, though, the sole plate, upper material and stud layout are also redesigned and revamped.

Our favorites are the Predator 18+ – simply for combining old and new so seamlessly, which model from the ‘Cold Blooded’ pack gets your vote? Let us know in the comments below and on Facebook and Twitter!
