Quade Cooper out of Rugby Championships

Australian fly-half Quade Cooper will miss the rest of the Rugby Championship tournament due to knee damage.

Mercurial Australian fly-half Quade Cooper has been ruled out of the Rugby Championships to attend to immediate surgery on his knee.

Scans show that the 24-year old has a small chip in the articular cartilage of his right knee.

It’s the same knee that was injured during the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand last September, which saw Cooper endure an extensive layoff.

The injury is not long-term and shouldn’t affect Cooper’s eligibility for selection for the Spring Tour in November.
