September is undoubtedly one of the biggest months for gaming releases in 2026, with some spectacular launches coming your way. From superhero endeavours to vampiric adventures, here are the games to look out for in September 2026:

The Blood of Dawnwalker

Release date: 3 September 2026 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)

Fans of The Witcher 3 will want to look out for this new action-RPG. The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world dark fantasy set in 14th-century Europe that sees you play as Coen, human by day and vampire by night. You’ll have to master sword-fighting, vampiric abilities, and pick your path as you shape how your adventure plays out.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Release date: 4 September 2026 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC | Switch 2)

It’s been a long time since we’ve had an Onimusha game, but Capcom’s slick new reboot-sequel, Way of the Sword, is here. It’s an incredibly stylish and action-heavy revamp of the classic samurai-vs-demons world created by the previous Onimusha games, with some technical combat, parrys, and dodging that needs to be mastered to eliminate the demons plaguing Kyoto, Japan. You can check out our review here.

Marvel’s Wolverine

Release date: 15 September 2026 (PS5)

Insomniac, the studio behind Marvel’s Spider-Man, have been hard at work on an upcoming Wolverine game, putting the beloved feral X-Men member front and centre for his own adventure. The game itself looks to utilise a lot of the mechanics and visuals behind the Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 entries, but brings a more linear, visceral and violent take on combat.

Samson: A Tyldalston Story

Release date: 21 September 2026 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S)

After releasing on PC in April, the open-world beat-’em-up Samson touches down on consoles in September. Set in the city of Tyndalston, you take control of the titular Samson, who has to drive and fight his way through some dangerous people in order to save his sister. The combat system is brutal, and the incorporation of physics-based enviromental hazards adds an interesting edge to Samson.

Control: Resonant

Release date: 24 September 2026 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)

Remedy Entertainment (behind Alan Wake and Max Payne) are dropping their sequel to 2019’s Control in September. Expanding upon the quirky, para-sci-fi world introduced in Control, you play as Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse Faden from the first game. As the paranatural force contained in the facility from the first game escapes into New York, you have to use new powers and otherwordly weapons to fight against the reality-bending cosmic threat.

Silent Hill: Townfall

Release date: 24 September 2026 (PS5 | PC)

With the Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill F, Konami’s horror franchise is on a good run, and another new entry is set to spice things up even more. In Silent Hill: Townfall, Simon Ordell is called back to the island of St. Amelia to ‘put things right’, encountering a town lying quiet beneath a heavy fog, seemingly abandoned but not at rest. This one shifts to a first-person perspective too, which should only emphasise the frights on offer.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered

Release date: 29 September 2026 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC | Switch 2)

Developer CD Projekt Red are earning some serious faith from fans, giving the Remastered edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for free if you purchased the original game. The remaster introduces gameplay tweaks including a revamped skill tree, improved horse mount handling, new combat animations, and a transmog system. On top of that, you also get the past DLC expansions (and a new one coming in 2027) for free.
