One of the biggest upcoming releases of 2020, Marvel’s Avengers, will finally give gamers the chance to jump into the iron-clad boots of Tony Stark, ripped purple shorts of the Hulk, or any of the other core heroes’ shoes for a brand-new adventure; and we’ve finally got some new gameplay from the upcoming release.
Developed by Square Enix and set for release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on 4 September, Marvel’s Avengers stars Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor in an all-new story, which picks up during a devastating attack which results in the Avengers disbanding. Five years later, with all superheroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is for Kamala Kahn to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Much like 2018’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Avengers combines cinematic storytelling with a robust single-player campaign, but Marvel’s Avengers will also incorporate co-op gameplay.
Square Enix confirmed that players who own the current-gen version of the game will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost, regardless if players are moving from Playstation 4 to Playstation 5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X. Those moving their saves to next-gen will transfer their player profiles and progression so they can pick up right where they left off. In addition, cross-gen play will be supported so PS5 players will be able to play with their friends on PS4 and Xbox Series X players will be connected with their friends on Xbox One.
It was also confirmed that post-launch content, including new heroes and challenges, will be available at no additional cost.
