7 Most-Anticipated Games of March 2024 You Need to Play
What are the games to keep on your radar this March?
2024 has already delivered some incredible games, and not-so-great games, for us to enjoy. March is definitely not slowing down and we have a bucket-load of exciting releases on the horizon, with everything from oily brawls to horror remakes on the cards. Here are our most anticipated games to look out for in March 2024:
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game
Release date: 5 March 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | Xbox One | Switch | PC)
Mudrunner and Snowrunner are incredibly underrated games that test your offroading skills, and Expeditions adds a new twist to that formula, as you have to lead research missions through treacherous paths, using advanced technologies and high-tech tools to overcome obstacles. This is anything but a racing game, and more a kind of vehicular puzzle game (it’s the best way to describe it), where you have to plan how you’re going to navigate to your destination, use the right tools for the right scenario, and be tactful with regards to how you drive.
WWE 2K24
Release date: 8 March 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | Xbox One | PC)
We can’t wait to slap on that spandex and oil ourselves up, as WWE 2K24 is set for release this March, with Wrestlemania taking centre stage in 2K24, allowing you to recreate iconic moments and play out some of the most memorable matches from Wrestlemania’s history. In addition to two new story arcs in the MyRise mode, there are also new match types to experience, such as Guest Referee, Casket, Gauntlet, and Ambulance matches.
Hi-Fi Rush
Release date: 18 March 2024 (PS5 | Already on: Xbox Series X/S | PC)
Hi-Fi Rush was not only one of the best games of 2023, but it was also a massive surprise, which makes the experience even better, and it’s coming to PS5 this March. While Hi-Fi Rush comes from the same team that brought us the horror of The Evil Within, the game is the complete opposite experience, delivering a super-colourful, rhythm-based hack-‘n-slash action game that has a punchy soundtrack, stellar visuals, and an interesting gameplay loop.
Alone in the Dark
Release date: 20 March 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)
Fans of 90s horror will undoubtedly have fond memories of the original Alone in the Dark from 1992, and the franchise will see a reboot with a brand-new entry in 2024. It’s a reimagining of the original game in a similar style to the Resident Evil remakes, which leverage the latest technology and implement a third-person action survival approach, rather than a static camera like in the originals. The game is set in the 1920s, where players can choose to play as Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood, as they make their way through Derceto Mansion to uncover the mysteries and horrors within.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
Release date: 22 March 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)
If Skyrim and Monster Hunter had a baby, it would be Dragon’s Dogma. This sequel to 2012’s smash-hit from Capcom focuses on being a single-player, narrative-driven action-RPG experience in a really interesting fantasy world. You can build your warrior and set out to slay some incredible beasts and complete story-driven quests, all while building your AI-controlled party. All of these elements are elevated further by impressive physics and the game running on the RE Engine (which powered the Resident Evil remakes), so it looks gorgeous to boot!
Rise of the Ronin
Release date: 22 March 2024 (PS5)
Being developed by Team Ninja (Ninja Gaiden, Nioh), Rise of the Ronin is an upcoming open-world action-RPG set in 19th century Edo period Japan. The game features some spectacular action, with a combat system that mixes swords and guns along with vertical traversal using a grappling hook and ancient flying machines. It looks like a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to see more of this slashing adventure when it arrives in March.
South Park: Snow Day!
Release date: 26 March 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | Switch | PC)
The South Park RPGs have found quite a place with fans of the genre, and after the success of The Stick of Truth, gamers can now dive into the next adventure, Snow Day, but this time, it’s a fully 3D, third-person action game. You can join Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny, and play solo, with bots, or with up to three friends to battle through the snow-piled town of South Park. You can engage in frenetic, action-packed combat, equip unique weapons and deploy devastating, upgradable special abilities, all while the trademark South Park humour remains front and centre.
