TRAILER: Ben Affleck & Matt Damon Team Up for New Crime Thriller

The iconic Good Will Hunting and Dogma duo of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are once again partnering up for a new film. However, this time it’s a crime thriller called The Rip.
The film follows a police unit that discovers millions in cash in a derelict stash house, and trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray as they each set their eyes on the money. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question — including who they can rely on.
The Rip is directed by Joe Carnahan, who helmed The Grey (sublime) and Cop Shop (another underappreciated gem). We’ve highlighted some of Carnahan’s best films in a recent feature.
The Rip is hitting on Netflix on 16 January 2026.
