Honor has launched two new smartphone devices in South Africa, the Magic V2 and Magic 6 Pro, bringing two high-end entries into the Chinese brand’s Android-powered smartphone line.

Honor Magic V2

The Honor Magic V2 is the company’s latest evolution in the foldable smartphone segment, cutting the bulkiness and weight associated with many folding devices by making the Magic V2 the thinnest (9.9mm thick when folded) and lightest (231 grams) inward foldable smartphone to date.

This is achieved with Honor making the Magic V2’s silicon-carbon 5,000 mAh battery just 2.72mm thick, which is the average size of a credit card.

Specs-wise, the Honor Magic V2 features a 7.92-inch inner display, a 6.32-inch external display, 120 Hz refresh rate on both displays, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, Adreno 740 GPU, 16GBs of RAM, 512GBs of storage, and runs on MagicOS 7.2 (based on Android 13).

The triple-camera set-up includes a 50MP wide camera (f/1.9, OIS), 50MP ultra wide camera (f/2.0), and a 20MP telephoto camera (f/2.4, OIS). There is a 16MP front-racing camera too.

It also features Honor’s 66W SuperCharge support for faster, more efficient charging.

Pricing for the Magic V2 is set at R39,999 (RRP).

Honor Magic6 Pro

The Honor Magic6 Pro is the more ‘traditional’ smartphone entry in the Magic line-up, featuring a more familiar form-factor and design.

It features a 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, Adreno 750 GPU, 12GBs of RAM, 512GBs of storage, and runs on MagicOS 8.0 (based on Android 14).

There is a triple rear camera set-up, including a 50MP Wide Main Camera (f/1.4-f/2.0, OIS), 50MP ultra wide Camera (f/2.0), and a 180MP periscope telephoto Camera (f/2.6, 2.5x optical Zoom, 100x digital zoom, OIS); along with a 50MP (f/2.0) and 3D depth camera on the front.
