Puma Adds Nitro Foam to its Football Boots! Ultra Nitro 7 Revealed
Puma’s speed-boot gets a massive upgrade!
Puma is mixing things up this season, revealing the newest iteration of its Ultra football boots, this time with a little twist: the inclusion of the brand’s Nitro cushioning.
The Elite iteration of Nitrofoam has been used in Puma’s running shoes for a number of years now, so making its way across to the boot line is a no-brainer. Built into both the sock liner and the footbed of the Ultra Nitro 7, it is engineered to compress and rebound instantly – adding spring underfoot so that every push-off feels quicker, sharper, and more explosive.

The re-engineered Ultraweave upper is significantly lighter than its predecessor, cutting weight without cutting corners, so players get targeted support and a closer feel on the ball even at top speed.
Underneath, a new speed last shapes the boot to hug the foot from the off, delivering a snug, locked-in fit that keeps touch crisp and control sharp when it matters most. The streamlined engineered slip-on construction wraps the foot tight with zero distraction.
The studs and soleplate from the Ultra 6 have been revamped too. Now known as the Speedsystem 2.0 outsole, the studs have been reshaped by dynamic pressure-mapping data, with a focus on gripping hard on the plant and then releasing clean on the push.

For those who want to take it one step further, the Ultra Nitro 7 also comes in a laceless version. The Ultra Nitro 7 Ultimate LL FG strips the boot back to its essentials: no laces, no interruptions, just a clean strike surface and a high-tension knitted ankle strap that anchors at the heel and fuses to the upper to keep the foot locked in.
A women’s fit version of the Ultra Nitro 7 is also available, featuring the same Nitrofoam Elite technology in a redesigned silhouette built around the anatomy of the female foot – snugger forefoot, lower instep, redesigned collar, and a women’s fit sockliner – because speed should fit everyone properly.

The boot launches as part of Puma’s Q3 Arrival Pack, a white and red drop that also sees the launch of the Future 9 Ultimate, built for playmakers, and the King 20 Ultimate, twenty generations in and still the benchmark for touch and control. Three boots, three distinct identities, one statement of intent. As worn on pitch by Neymar Jr, Xavi Simons, Cody Gakpo, Morgan Rogers, Christian Pulisic, Sandy Baltimore, and Fridolina Rolfö.
There are more affordable takedown models available, but the Ultra Nitro 7 will be priced at R5,099 and will be available from 23 July from Puma.com, Puma retail stores, Totalsports, Takealot, Studio 88 and Sportsmans Warehouse.
