Christmas is around the corner, and in anticipation for the day of giving, we’ve highlighted five gadgets that have caught our eye this year.
GoPro Hero 4 Session
Action cameras care all the rage, and while they can produce amazing videos, some are overly complicated to use. GoPro addressed the problem this year with its simpler Session camera that is half as small as its other models but still captures high-definition footage, slo-mo video, and eight-megapixel photos.
Even beyond this tech toy’s Star Wars: Episode VII connection, this Sphero creation is just an incredible piece of technology. The drone can be directed from your phone like a remote-control robot, or ordered to roam autonomously. Using your phone, it can also deliver augmented reality messages with a Star Wars theme.
These specific jeans have been in development for at least six months, but the idea had been around since the smartphone took over our lives, basically the jeans have a discreet slot for a slim phone-charging battery, which connects with the adjacent hidden pocket for your phone. They offer a sleek, stylish way to keep your device charged and connected while on the go.
The ability to control lighting was one of the first smart home innovations, but Stack is taking it a step further with its line of bulbs that adjust to you automatically. They have built-in motion detectors, so they know when you’re in a room and when you’ve left, meaning you (in theory) won’t have to flip a switch ever again.
Samsung Galaxy S7
Samsung ditched its old phone design and started afresh with this the Galaxy S7 this year. The device features a crisp Super AMOLED screen, a thin 7.9mm body, and 1440 x 2560 pixel screen. Its metal and glass delivers a more premium finish, its 12-megapixel quick-launching camera and upgraded fingerprint scanner and its Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820Exynos 8890 Octa chipset make it the must-have phone this year.
