Things are about to get heated, as the greatest rivalries in the Southern Hemisphere of international rugby get underway, along with the start of Premier League, which footie fans will be drooling at the mouth for.

1. WALLABIES vs ALL BLACKS

To get things off to a banging start, the Wallabies will be taking their first crack at getting the Bledisloe in their trophy cabinet when they meet the All Blacks in Sydney. The Australians will be on a high after coming off from the Waratahs’ Super Rugby championship win this season, while the All Blacks are returning from their most successful season in professional history, winning every single one of their games in 2013.

2. SPRINGBOKS vs ARGENTINA

At 5pm, we’ll see the mighty Springboks taking on Argentina in Pretoria, and the Boks will be eager to get their tournament off to a great start by securing four points against the spirited Pumas. The likes of Willie le Roux, Handre Pollard, Bryan Habana, and Duane Vermeulen will be key in getting us on the front-foot, but don’t underestimate the Argentinians either – they’ve got some serious talent in their forward pack and backline.

3. MANCHESTER UNITED vs SWANSEA

In terms of the football, there’s some big games to kick-off the new season, with Newcastle taking on Man City and Liverpool facing Southampton, but undoubtedly the big game will be Manchester United battling Swansea. It’ll be interesting to see how the Red Devils go this season after a troublesome time in the 2013/2014 BPL, but with a more settled management situation and some key players, such as Robin Van Persie being in exceptional form following the World Cup, they should have enough to tackle Swansea.
