TRAILER: One of the Most Underrated Crime-Thrillers is Getting a Sequel
Check out the first trailer for Gerard Butler’s crime-scapade sequel.
One of the more underappreciated outings from Gerard Butler is that of Den of Thieves. This 2018 crime-thriller sees Butler playing Nick O’Brien, head of the Major Crimes Unit of the LAPD, who is tasked with foiling a planned heist at the Federal Reserve, all while trying to discover who he can and cannot trust in his own department. The film features a lot of twists and turns, with some tension-packed moments that fans of the genre will appreciate.
While it didn’t get the mainstream appeal is deserved upon release, it has built quite the cult following over the years, and a sequel is set for release in 2025, and the first trailer has now dropped.
The sequel picks up after the first film and sees Butler team up with his former nemesis, O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Out of Compton, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) who is embroiled in the treacherous and unpredictable world of diamond thieves, as they plot a massive heist of the world’s largest diamond exchange.
