From superhero introductions to horror sequels, March is bringing a handful of exciting movies to indulge in this month; and we’ve rounded up the best releases that you need to keep your eye on:
The Way Back
Release date: 6 March
Ben Affleck’s A Way Back treads pretty close to home for the Batman actor, telling a story of a man suffering from alcoholism, and the dark places he finds himself in as a result of. He gets a second chance when he is recruited to coach his old high school’s basketball team.
Release date: 13 March
Starring Vin Diesel and directed by first-timer Dave Wilson, Bloodshot tells the story of Ray Garrison, a marine who is killed in action but resurrected as a killing machine enhanced by technology. While effective and essentially invincible, Garrison is haunted by memories of his past life that his new handlers want him to forget. The film, which was filmed in South Africa last year, is set to be the first entry in a new comic-book cinematic universe for Valiant Comics’ gallery of characters.
A Quiet Place: Part II
Release date: 20 March
The sensory-horror film A Quiet Place gets a sequel this month, as Emily Blunt returns to her role from the first film, searching for a new haven for her children in a world overrun by blind but deadly monsters. Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou also join the cast.
Release date: 27 March
Disney’s latest live-action remake sees Mulan come to the big-screen. Minus some of the more magic elements, the reiterated Mulan tells the story of Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honoured warrior, who steps in to take the place of her ailing father in China’s imperial army.
