Marvel’s Ant-Man: First Official Image Released

The Ant-Man film has had a pretty bumpy ride through Hollywood since development on the project began, but Marvel’s next superhero origin story is finally hitting its stride, with Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly joining the already impressive cast and shooting getting underway in Atlanta and San Francisco.

Peyton Reed recently replaced Edgar Wright as the director, which seemed to be the last missing piece of the puzzle when Wright bailed out at late stages of script-writing. Reed has less than a year to get the movie ready before its release in 2015.

Until then, Marvel tweeted an official image from the production, showing Paul Rudd in hooded and apparently bruised form as central character Scott Lang. This image, we’re guessing, is from point in the story before he becomes the heroic size-shifting Ant-Man.
