HB Studios and Big Ben Interactive have finally lifted the veil on Rugby 15, revealing a bunch of details and specifics about the upcoming current and next-gen game.
The game is being shown-off during the Gamescom 2014 expo taking place in Cologne, Germany, from 13-17 of August.
After teasing the box art, the developers revealed that the cover stars are in fact Toulouse captain Thierry Dusautoir, Toulon flyhalf Frédéric Michalak and Clermont centre Wesley Fofana – all representatives from the French Top 14.
The game also features licensed teams from Aviva Premiership and PRO D2 league in France.
The game was also presented and showcased by cover star Thierry Dusautoir, who posed for some of the media and answered questions during the game’s demonstration.
With regards to the two screenshots released, they are said to be images from the alpha version of the game, which means that it’s still pretty deep in development and they’re not accurate of the final version of the game.
The first screenshot features two teams which appear to be Munster and Racing Métro, while the second screenshot shows two teams which are difficult to identify.
Rugby 15 is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and PC, and will be released on 14 November 2014.
The game will be the first next generation Rugby title from the Canadian-based studio, which previously created Rugby World Cup 2011 and Rugby 08.
“With this new sport simulation we are pursuing our strategy of moving upmarket with strong licences and quality partnerships, as with HB Studios,” declared Alain Falc, CEO of Bigben Interactive. ”Today it gives us great pleasure to announce the very first rugby game on new generation consoles with the TOP 14 and the PRO D2, thanks to the support of the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (French Rugby Association). We are certain that fans of the sport will enjoy it!”
The game will feature teams from the 2014/2015 season.
