The weekend delivered some big moments in the form of some great tries, runs and tackles, thanks to the Rugby World Cup kicking off. Here are the five best:

Japan make history – the Springboks were stunned by Eddie Jones’ Japanese side in the side’s opening pool game in the rugby world game, scoring a winning-try in the 83rd minute to win 32-34.

Pietersen’s unbelievable try – Sharks flyhalf Joe Pietersen combined with outside centre Paul Jordaan to score a brilliant 100m try in the Currie Cup encounter with the Lions.

Nemani Nadolo’s colossal performance against England – giant Fijian winger Nemani Nadolo lived up to the hype and put on an amazing display of rugby against England in the opening game of the tournament.

Mike Brown’s World Cup opener – England fullback Mike Brown had a stellar contribution to his side’s opening win against Fiji in the Rugby World Cup.

McKenzie brothers continue sibling rivalry on-field – Opposing brothers Marty and Damian McKenzie came face-to-face when Waikato met Taranaki in the ITM Cup, and the boys couldn’t help and have a friendly go at one another.
