A new brand under the Chery umbrella is set to launch a number of electric vehicles in South Africa in 2026.

Called iCaur, the new brand promises to spark a new era of choice for local drivers with bold design, versatile tech, and models built for adventure.

As iCaur prepares for its local launch in 2026, the newcomer is making its debut at the Festival of Motoring, bringing versatility, creativity, and global innovation to local drivers. iCAUR’s upcoming line-up blends bold design and functionality, positioning itself as more than just a typical EV player.

“2026 will be the year of choice and creativity,” said Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at iCaur South Africa. “We are introducing a line-up that gives people the freedom to mix, match, and make life their own. Our vehicles are designed with personality and individuality at their core.”

iCaur is showcasing its two headline models, namely the 03T and V23. Both of these advanced, fully electric SUVs offer a distinctive experience. The 03T pairs sleek urban crossover style with adventurous wide-body SUV lines and an innovative aluminium construction.

The V23 takes inspiration from robust and retro designs, pairing them with adaptable interiors and mechanical knobs, with a broad level of customisation. With up to 24 interchangeable pieces, each V23 can reflect the driver’s personal style. Both the V23 and the 03T  deliver up to 500 km of all-electric range with AWD capability.

Adding intrigue is the upcoming iCaur V27,  set to join the South African catalogue within the next two years. This bold future model expands the brand’s portfolio and underscores its forward-looking vision.

The brand’s upcoming portfolio caters to those who mix, match, and make life their own, with a smart cockpit experience, five-star safety, class-leading battery technologies, and design cues that blend retro nostalgia with futuristic cyber aesthetics.

iCaur also introduces Chery International’s “Golden Range Extender” REEV technology to its entire lineup in 2026. This system has been developed to give South Africans peace of mind on longer journeys by pairing EV sustainability with practical long-distance capability.

“South Africans are adventurous by nature,” added Gahagan. “iCaur is about matching that spirit with vehicles that don’t just move people, but move with them. That is the journey we are inviting drivers to take.”
