Adidas Predator 26 Launches in South Africa: Details Here

Adidas has officially launched the next iteration of its Predator football boot entry, which we’re dubbing: the Predator 26 (for 2026).

The Predator 26 takes a lot of queues from the revamped model that was introduced in 2024, with the fold-over tongue remaining a key component of the new version (although models without the fold-over tongue will be available).

A change that owners of recent Predators will notice is that Adidas has moved away from the grippy, rubber-like Hybridtouch upper material, and now opts for what they call Nanostrike+ technology. It essentially uses a mesh, built for absolute softness and feather-like lightness, which is paired with integrated rubber grip elements for optimal striking precision in dry and wet conditions.

Another new addition is the PowerSpine technology, marking a bit of a throwback to Predators of yesteryear. This reinforced portion of the soleplate gives midfoot stability and helps deliver a stronger shot. Whether or not this works for shooting is up for debate, but there’s no doubt that the stability has been improved.

The stud pattern has seen a change since last season’s model too, with the tri-star configuration being swapped out for the StrikeFrame soleplate. The stud pattern appears a little more forgiving and borrows some of the shape from the Copa Pure 3, with some rounded edges to most of the studs.

Pricing and availability

Of course, there are a few options available, with the top-end and takedown boots now available in South Africa at the following prices:

  • Adidas Predator FT (foldover tongue) Elite model — R5,999
  • Adidas Predator FT (foldover tongue) Pro model — R3,499
  • Adidas Predator FT (foldover tongue) League model — R1,999
