Resident Evil Meets John Wick in this New Action Game, and We’re All For It
Gun-fu meets zombies in this exciting newly-announced game.
Project Retrograde: The Becoming is an upcoming game being made by Invercity Game Works that appears to be a match made in heaven, channelling the likes of Resident Evil, The Evil Within, and John Wick into something pretty epic.
Touted as an action-packed survival-horror, the game follows an underground world devastated by the ancient parasite L.U.C.A. Playing as a bounty hunter that has some sort of symbiotic connection with the mysterious parasite, it’s up to you to explore ruined civilisations and uncover the truth behind cataclysm.
Combat in the game looks like a combination between over-the-shoulder, third-person shooting with a lot of hand-to-hand melee moves that would make Mr. Wick proud. There’s also clearly some stealth elements too, allowing you to sneak up to and dispatch of enemies quietly.
Overall, it looks like an interesting game that we’ll be keeping our eyes on. It’s coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, and while there’s no release date, expect it in 2026.
