The Best in Breaking: FUJIFILM Instax Undisputed World Championship Awes Cape Town
The world’s best breakers returned to the Mother City, setting the city alight with an amazing display of skills, athleticism and flair.
The best breakers from across the globe descended on Cape Town this past Saturday, 6 December 2025, to compete in the FUJIFILM Instax Undisputed Breaking World Championship. This was the fourth qualifier ahead of the Tokyo World Final in March 2026, putting Cape Town’s vibrant hip-hop community front and centre.
The V&A Waterfront played host to some of the fiercest battles seen yet, with the crowd witnessing a competitive melting pot of skills, creativity and cultural energy. Breakers from Japan and the Netherlands managed to clinch the solo battles, with a world team securing the five-person crew battle.

It was a blistering b-boy Hiro10 (JPN) who took the Solo Men’s title, going up against Gravity (USA). Both dancers pushed the limits, thrilling the crowd from start to finish. With a commanding 3-0 victory, Hiro10 claimed the win. African b-boys The Curse, Bashi, Toufeeq, and Shady also made it to the top eight, further highlighting South Africa’s depth of talent in the competition.
Three-time world champion India (NLD) blew away b-girl Karla (REN) 2-0 in their battle to reach the final, then edged b-girl Stefani from Ukraine to claim the title. India’s technical brilliance and relentless determination showed why she’s one of the best in the game.

“I’m so happy I’ve won in South Africa. I felt a real connection with the people here and loved the great atmosphere. I’m thrilled that now I get the chance to move on to the final in Japan,” commented a delighted India after her win.
In the 5v5 crews battle, CPT Elite (RSA) battled their way into the semi-final but fell short to Breaknation (WORLD), the crew that ultimately went on to win the final. However, South Africa found some consolidation in the fact that local hero Toufeeq is part of Breaknation and will be heading to the finals in Japan. Breaknation (WORLD) features some of the best breakers in the competition, including Hiro10 (JAP), Stefani (UKR), Gravity (USA) and Johnny Fox (ESP).

“I feel really good. I’m so inspired to go to Japan, and so happy to be part of this crew,” said Toufeeq.
During the FUJIFILM Instax Undisputed Breaking World Championship DJs and MCs kept the energy high while judges scored performances in real time using the Trivium Judging System, delivering fast, transparent results across physical, interpretative and artistic criteria.
Before the event took place, the organisers of the FUJIFILM Instax Undisputed Breaking World Championship announced that Cape Town will now be a regular feature on their event calendar going forward.
With Cape Town’s champions set, attention turns to Tokyo next year. The 2026 FUJIFILM Instax Undisputed World Final will bring together the best from the continents for the ultimate test in breaking, a global collision of skill, creativity and athletic performance.
