Ex-GTA Dev’s New Game & 6 Other Releases You Should Play this Month
Here are the biggest games coming your way in June 2025.
June ramps up the gaming release schedule with some big-hitters, a new console, and some exciting new projects that you should take note of. Here are the games to consider in June 2025:
Mario Kart World
Release date: 5 June 2025 (Switch 2)
With the release of Nintendo’s Switch 2 console this month, it was inevitable that a new Mario Kart game would arrive. Mario Kart World supports up to 24 players, twice as many compared to previous Mario Kart games, and includes features such as an open-world design, a free-roaming mode, off-roading segments, boat racing, rail grinding and wall jumping.

Dune Awakening
Release date: 10 June 2025 (PC)
Following the release and revived popularity of the Dune franchise, a new Dune video game is arriving this June. Awakening takes the form of an open-world, multiplayer survival game on a massive scale, so if you’re an MMO fan that loves Dune, you’ll want to look out for this one.

MindsEye
Release date: 10 June 2025 (PS5 | Xbox Series S/X | PC)
MindsEye is a fascinating game releasing this June, coming from some ex-Rockstar Games developers who worked on the Grand Theft Auto series. It’s a single-player third-person shooter that seems to take a bit of inspiration from the likes of Watch Dogs. There’s also a plan for the developer to support the game with ongoing content post-launch, so this looks to be an interesting release if it pans out positively.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition
Release date: 10 June 2025 (Xbox Series S/X | PC)
If you’ve burned through Space Marine 2 and are looking for some more chainsawing alien-chaos in the Warhammer universe, the original Space Marine has been remastered and set for release. It includes quality of life and graphical enhancements, along with all the DLC that was released for the first game.

The Alters
Release date: 13 June 2025 (PS5 | Xbox Series S/X | PC)
I’ll be frank: The Alters looks like a pretty weird game, but one I’m excited to check out. It follows an astronaut on a space station on a remote planet; but the catch is that he can replicate himself (creating ‘alters’) to help with his mission. Managing the various alters and ensuring the survival of your ship is key.

Rematch
Release date: 17 June 2025 (PC)
Yes, Rematch is another soccer game, but what makes it interesting is that it comes from developer Sloclap, the team behind kung-fu sim Sifu, and allows you to take control of a single-player in 5v5 multiplayer matches.

Death Stranding 2
Release date: 26 June 2025 (PS5)
Death Stranding, while divisive, turned out to be a huge hit for Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and his new development studio. The sequel arrives this June and continues Sam Bridges’ journey into the weird supernatural world of Death Stranding. This entry looks to crank up the action with a lot more weapons and enemies to deal with.
