April is here with a bang, bringing a number of exciting games to check out, with everything from nostalgia-packed flashbacks to horrifying new nightmares. Here are the games to keep on your radar this April:

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

Release date: 2 April 2025 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | Xbox One | Switch | PC)

Anyone who grew up in the original Playstation era will be familiar with Croc – the little backpack-wearing reptile who was essentially one of the mascots of the PS1. He’s making a return with a remastered version of the original game, with modern controls and quality-of-life upgrades that should make this 3D collect-a-thon a fun revisit.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

Release date: 3 April 2025 (PC | Already on: PS5)

The Last of Us Part II Remastered finally makes its way onto PC, giving fans a spiffed-up reskin of the highly-acclaimed sequel. The game is not even that old, so some of the improvements aren’t overwhelmingly noticeable, but there are a host of graphical enhancements, new gameplay modes like the roguelike survival experience No Return, and more for fans of the franchise to sink their teeth into.

South of Midnight

Release date: 8 April 2025 (Xbox Series X/S | PC)

An interesting game arriving this April is South of Midnight, which has been a little under the radar. It’s a third-person action-adventure game that takes place in the swamps of the Deep South, taking a spin on the myths and legends of the region in a kind of modern folktale. There’s a bit of combat, platforming and puzzle-solving, but the visuals are a true standout, with the game looking like a hand-drawn comic book.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Release date: 17 April 2025 (PS5 | Already on Xbox Series X/S | PC)

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle already arrived on Xbox and PC late last year, and proved to be quite the fun adventure. I was initially sceptical at first, but the game is a perfect adaptation of what you’d expect from an Indy adventure: gorgeous locations, a 1930s setting, fisticuffs, and some great puzzles. It also doesn’t hold your hand too much and allows you to experiment and explore to solve tricky situations or work out how to progress, which is appreciated. It’s a must-play for any fan of the franchise.

Post Trauma

Release date: 22 April 2025 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)

Post Trauma is an indie title that takes a lot of inspiration from the Silent Hill and Resident Evil franchises, bringing a new survival horror experience to consoles and PCs. If static cameras, horrifying creatures, and violent combat are your thing, be sure to check out Post Trauma.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Release date: 24 April 2025 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)

Despite the obscure name (see what we did there?), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an RPG game that fans will want to take note of. It features some serious talent behind its development studio, along with the voice work of Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings) and Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI). The also includes real time aspects such as quick-time events and timing-based actions both in offense and defense, which makes the turn-based combat a whole lot more interesting.

Days Gone Remastered

Release date: 25 April 2025 (PS5)

Easily the most overlooked Playstation exclusive to date (for reasons that are still not clear), Days Gone is a stunning open-world zombie survival adventure that stars Deacon, a man searching for his missing wife while trying to stay alive and keep his motorcycle running. It’s a harrowing, action-packed, and interesting game that is well worth playing, and if you somehow missed it, this Remastered edition is a no-brainer. Trust us.
