Try of the week: Tim Nanai-Williams
Tim Nanai-Williams’ performance against the Chiefs earned the young centre one of the tries of the season
The Chiefs and Highlanders thrilling match in Dunedin will go down as one of the best Super Rugby games in any season, and one of the standout performers was that of Tim Nanai-Williams.
The young wing-turned-centre bagged himself two tries, both in spectacular fashion; but his first showed pure brilliance.
The try happened off the back of a scrum, where Ma’a Nonu rushed on defence, opening a gap for Nanai-Williams to burst through. When faced with Ben Smith (one of the best fullbacks in the business), Nanai-Williams goose-stepped and took him on the outside, beating out the All Black to the tryline.
