Amazing Spider-man

Andrew Garfield has gotten a pretty rough deal. He was the shining point of two Amazing Spider-Man films, and despite the second movie getting some harsh reception, every critic would agree that Garfield was perfect for the role and brought some gravity and humour to the role of Peter Parker.

Garfield was poised to play the web-head again in a third Amazing Spider-Man film, but following the deal struck between Sony and Marvel that will see Spidey thrust into the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, the plan to close out the Amazing Spider-Man trilogy were sidelined until further notice.

This left Garfield pushed aside for the younger Tom Holland, who will take on the role of Spider-Man in the MCU and is set to make his first appearance in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, before taking on his own standalone movie in 2017.

But what are Garfield’s thoughts on the whole scenario? You’d think a hint of animosity perhaps, but in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor reminded everyone why is such a class lad.

“It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor. He was in this movie The Impossible and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor. And [he’s] a dancer, so his body’s the right [form]”.

Garfield also added that “I’m just really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it”.

Well played, Garfield.

I don’t know. I think Spider-Man makes sense as a cameo character. all of the Spider-Man movies have been average. I think it would be cool to do a Spider-Man series.

I used to love the cartoon. Not the super old one that was eventually dubbed in Zulu but the one in the late 90’s

I can understand the harsh criticism. It must be difficult getting replced just like that. Im sure Andrew Garfield can seek solace with Toby McGuire
