The Springboks have called up the service of Lions utility back Lionel Mapoe in the absence of Frans Steyn.
Johan Goosen will make his first test start on Saturday when the Springboks take on the Wallabies.
Four new players, who did not tour Australasia, have been included in the Springbok squad, Jaco Taute, Elton Jantjies, CJ van der Linde and Coenie Oosthuizen.
