RWC 2015 ball unveiled by Gilbert
Gilbert showcases the official ball which will be used in the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
Gilbert has unveiled the ball which will be used at the 2015 Rugby World Cup being held in England.
“With the 2011 design proving a hit for fans and retailers around the world, the striking and innovative England 2015 ball artwork has been designed with performance and players in mind, while taking inspiration from the Modern Classic tournament look and feel that will be synonymous with the world’s third-largest sports event,” said Gilbert.
Player consultation was said to be a big part in the design-process of the new ball, with the colour and contrast of the design said to help and improve visibility for the player when passing.
The pattern is also said to feature strong visual references along the seams to help kickers mark areas to connect with.
“I have no doubt that this ball will become a sought-after and iconic feature of a tournament that is on track to mark another successful and memorable chapter in the remarkable Rugby World Cup story, bringing together people the length and breadth of England and around the world for a festival that will showcase Rugby and the nation to record audiences,” said Rugby World Cup Limited Chairman Bernard Lapasset.
Rugby World Cup 2015 replica balls will be available through the official Rugby World Cup 2015 online shop at www.rwcshop.com and in store via official outlets around the world.

Sounds like a plan, the 2010 Jabulani Fifa ball was nuts but the original was something like R1000! Hopefully the RWC2015 Original wont be that expensive!

Rugby Informer should have a give away copetition for the ball when it comes out. Hint hint.
