After a cracking opening to 2023, March continues with some big game releases, including the much-anticipated remake of one of the best games ever made, along with some new franchises to lure in fans of all genres.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Release date: 3 March 2023 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | Xbox One | PC)

Developed by Team Ninja (Nioh series), is an action RPG set in 184 AD, Later Han Dynasty China. The game follows the story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the period, where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Wo Long features some tough and intricate combat, and comparisons to the Souls games have been made, but this is a faster, more accessible experience for those looking for a challenging but fun adventure.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Release date: 24 March 2023 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | PC)

Much like the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes which were released in 2019 and 2020 respectively, Resident Evil 4 is a full, built-from-the-ground-up reimagining of the 2005 classic. The game won’t detour too far from the original, but will include new story elements, slicker combat, and will run on the RE Engine which has powered the past remakes, as well as Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil: Village.

System Shock

Release date: March 2023 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | Xbox One | PC)

System Shock is the fully fledged remake of the ground breaking original from 1994, combining cult gameplay with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface and all-new sounds & music; it even has the original voice actor of SHODAN, one of gaming’s most iconic villains. With System Shock getting another go, newcomers can experience the game that inspired Bioshock and Prey.

WWE 2K23

Release date: 17 March 2023 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | Xbox One | PC)

Last year’s WWE 2K22 was a return to form for the long-running spandex-clad series, and WWE 2K23 is focusing on delivering another haymaker. As usual, you’ll be able to choose from almost 200 superstars, pair them up together or go head-to-head in all kinds of match types with hundreds of modifiers. For fans of WWE history, there’s the new story mode centred all around John Cena, chronicling his rise from OVW to the grandest stage of them all. The catch though is that you won’t be playing as Cena, but rather as the challengers who all sought to become legends by taking on Cena on his rise to the top.

EA Sports PGA Tour

Release date: 24 March 2023 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)

EA Sports makes its return to the virtual golfing world with PGA Tour, which is an exciting game for dedicated golf fans, as it features all four Major championships: the Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open. You’ll create your own golfer, develop your skill set with new shot types, and learn the right strategies for taking on the 30 real-life courses that have been authentically recreated.

Crime Boss: Rockay City

Release date: 28 March 2023 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)

Seemingly coming out of nowhere and delivering a multiplayer-centric objective-based campaign is that of Crime Boss: Rockay City. The game is a first-person shooter similar to that. of the Payday series, where you have to pull off heists, complete objectives, and mow down anyone who gets in your way in the process. It also features a notable voice cast including the likes of Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Chuck Norris, and is somewhat of a love letter to 1990s action movies as you rob, shoot, and work your way through Florida from a bygone era.
