“Most Affordable” Bakkie Enters South Africa
A brand-new bakkie is entering the South African market at a more palatable and “affordable” price.
JMC (Jiangling Motors Corporation) has officially revealed its model range price list for the South African market, positioning itself as “the most affordable bakkie brand” in the country.
R299,900 will get you the JMC Vigus Single Cab, and the brand is also introducing a number of variants, including the Double Cab in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, and the Carrying Plus with three body guises.
The single cab Vigus is equipped with a 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine generating 140 horsepower. It also has rear sensors, airbags, and a handful of creature comforts, like a 3.5-inch information screen.
JMC has undergone a full strategic revitalisation, with the reintroduction of the brand locally including a plan to roll out 40 JMC dealerships nationwide by 2026. The brand is re-entering the market with upgraded dealer standards, strengthened after-sales support, and a refined product line designed to meet the demanding needs of South African customers.
