The Best Football Boot Colourways for 2018!
Check out the most eye-catching boots hitting the pitch in early 2018!
The 2018 season is upon us, and with the football world heading into its hotspots and the rugby season getting underway, we took a moment to do some boot-spotting and have highlighted the footwear you need to keep an eye out for in 2018!
Pantofola d’Oro Lazzarini 2.0 – White
The football boot world might be saturated by the common sportswear brands, but a few lesser known brands that offer quality products do exist. Italian boot manufacturer Pantofola d’Oro is one such exception – and their aim is to keep football’s traditional aesthetic alive. These boots are far more about visual design than high tech features, so don’t expect any mouthy tech specs, just look at them and enjoy the image of heritage.
Adidas Predator 18+ – Black/Red/White

While heritage and tradition might be appealing for some – others might want a more modern boot stuffed with the latest materials and technology giving pros the edge. The Predator 18+ is the most futuristic boot the Predator line has seen, dispensing with the famed fold-over tongue design and instead opting for a smooth, laceless upper and shortened collar. The Black/Red/White colour scheme is a love-letter to Adidas’ famed football heyday, brought to prominence by players like Beckham and Zidane, and they’ve made a striking comeback.
Nike Hypervenom Phantom III – Dark Grey

The Hypervenom Phantom was initially debuted a few years ago by Brazilian prodigy Neymar – and has become the boot of choice for many of the game’s skillful creators. Its upper features a variety of materials combined to provide good breathability and grip, but its most unique characteristic is the sole-plate and stud layout designed to facilitate quick direction changes – it’s definitely a boot made for dribblers.
Nike Tiempo Legend VII – Black/Red

The Tiempo is one of Nike’s oldest boot lines, and it’s still going strong. It’s traditionally made from supple leather and features a relatively low amount of technological advancements, as Nike have preferred to keep the Tiempo as their traditional option. While it may not have the kind of focus on light-weight feel or intricate upper design, it’s always comfortable and made for players that don’t want to fuss with their footwear – they just want something that will do the job and do it well.
Puma Future 18.1 Netfit – Yellow/Red/Black

Now this is a boot for someone who wants to make a statement – it’s going to catch eyes not just because of the borderline-blinding colourway, but also because of the highly unconventional design. The Netfit concept is Puma’s new take on customisable lacing, something not commonly offered by football boot manufacturers. Besides the lacing system that can be tuned to fit any individual’s desires, the lightweight upper and collared design fits the current norm for boots aimed at creative players, giving a secure fit and responsive ball-feel. Editor’s note: our review of the Puma Future 18.1 Netfit boots is coming in shortly.
