Movie Releases In SA This Weekend
Which movies are hitting our big-screens this weekend? MenStuff gives you the low-down on what’s what.
The weekend is around the corner and if you’re looking for a relaxed trip to the cinemas this weekend, and there’s a lot of choice on offer with some big releases launching this Friday, 24 April, so here’s your handy guide on what you should be watching:
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Easily the biggest movie release of the weekend (if not the year) is Avengers: Age of Ultron. Joss Whedon’s highly-anticipated sequel throws Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and the rest of the gang together to stop James Spader’s Ultron – a maniacal machine hell-bent on destroying humanity.
Book of Life
Book of Life has to be the most visually unique movie of the year – taking inspiration from Mexican folklore to create doll-like characters, voiced by Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Christina Applegate, and Ron Pearlman. It looks incredible, and will undoubtedly be a funny and heart-warming film.
Dear White People
A social satire that follows the stories of four black students at an Ivy League college where controversy breaks out over a popular but offensive black-face party thrown by white students. With tongue planted firmly in cheek, the film explores racial identity in acutely-not-post-racial America while weaving a universal story of forging one’s unique path in the world.

Avengers was one EPIC EPIC movie. I have to go see that movie again. The fight scene between Ironman and Hulk was legendary.
