Watch 30 Minutes of the New James Bond Video Game
Check out some brand-new gameplay, including a high-speed car chase, shootouts, and a sneaky infiltration.
In the recent State of Play event from Playstation, developer IO Interactive (famous for its work on the Hitman franchise) showcased some never-before-seen gameplay from 007: First Light, the new James Bond game.
Announced last year, the game takes the form of a third-person action adventure, which will see gamers take the role of the iconic agent, although with a new look, fresh face, and world.
First Light obviously capitalises on some of the systems and gameplay elements from IO’s Hitman series, such as disguises, stealth, and the sandbox-type levels, but this release will feature a much heavier focus on action, driving, and gunplay.
Story-wise, 007: First Light is also an origin story, of sorts, for a new Bond — the youngest ever at only 26 years old. He isn’t the fully fledged 007 you know from the tux-and-martini days, but a man with sharp instincts, sometimes reckless, who is still learning when to fight, when to bluff, and when to disappear into the shadows.
007: First Light will hit PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC in 2026.
