A Quiet Place: Day One

Release date: 28 June 2024

John Krasinski’s 2018 horror film A Quiet Place was a breath of fresh air in the genre, telling the story of a family desperate to survive in a world invaded by a blind alien race that only reacts to sound. The film picked up a few years into the ordeal, and the sequel, A Quiet Place Part II expanded the story and had quick flashbacks of the day the aliens arrived, but we’re finally getting to see what actually happened the day that the invasion went down with the prequel A Quiet Place: Day One. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou, and is written by Krasinski and Michael Sarnoski, with Sarnoski stepping into the director’s chair for this one.

The Watchers

Release date: 5 June 2024

The Watchers is directed by Ishana Shyamalan, who is the daughter of The Sixth Sense, Signs, and The Village director M. Night Shyamalan, who also serves as producer on the film. The Watchers follows Mina (Dakatoa Fanning), a 28-year-old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. The cast also includes Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouéré.
