Playstation held another State of Play show this week, and showcased a number of upcoming and in-development games to highlight to Playstation gamers. We’ve rounded up the 5 best trailers from the show for your viewing pleasure:

Silent Hill 2 Remake

After the incredible success of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 remakes, Konami is trying its hand at its own horror classic and updating 2001’s Silent Hill 2 for modern systems.

Developed by Bloober Team, who did 2021’s The Medium, the Silent Hill 2 remake takes a more dedicated third-person perspective, runs on a new engine, and has overhauled combat, much like the Resident Evil entries.

For those who may have never played the original, the story of Silent Hill 2 centres around James, who after having received a letter from his deceased wife (strange), heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her.

There is still no release date as of yet, but the game is in development for PS5 and will likely release sometime in 2024.

Death Stranding 2

Death Stranding, while divisive, turned out to be a huge hit for Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and his new development studio. The sequel is on the way, and the State of Play show gave us a lengthy gameplay and story trailer, showcasing a whole more about the mysterious follow-up.

Rise of Ronin

Team Ninja (Nioh) have been hard at work on their Japanese-set action RPG Rise of Ronin, and a deep-dive into the gameplay was given by one of the developers, showing off the game’s visuals, intricate combat mechanics, and traversal options.

Judas

We haven’t seen much of Judas since its announcement, but the first-person action game from Ken Levine (the man behind Bioshock) has gotten a new trailer finally giving a glimpse at what the game has in store.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is a fast, stylish, and slick action-adventure game developed by Shift Up and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, following a character named Eve who is tasked with fighting the NA:Tives, an alien race who has taken over Earth and forced humanity to flee. Running on the Unreal Engine 4 with some fantastic art direction, Stellar Blade looks fantastic in motion. It launches on 26 April 2024.
