With Black Friday (and Cyber Monday) bringing in some great deals on tech, gaming, and gadgets, there are some stellar sales on some of the best video games around. We’ve hunted down 5 of the best deals that Xbox games should take note of this year:
Resident Evil: Village | Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One – R624.50 (Xbox Live Marketplace)
Resident Evil 8: Village might look a little different, but it feels like a ‘greatest hits’ of the Resident Evil franchise, giving you all the little beloved bits and pieces that made the series a household name, while also throwing some serious curveballs in terms of creatures, setting, and tone. It’s a fantastic survival-horror experience that highlights how well the series has evolved over the years.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt | Xbox One – R79.80 (Xbox Live Marketplace)
If you haven’t played The Witcher 3 by now, the fact that it is under R100 should change that. There’s one word that’s fitting to round up the game colossal. It’s a game rich with story, content, and size. Often bigger isn’t always better, but The Witcher 3 manages to straddle that line between size and substance excellently. The result is an experience that succeeds in all departments and leaves you captivated from the opening moments. Every part of The Witcher 3 comes together like a well-oiled machine, delivering the open-world, monster-hunting extravaganza unlike any other.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising | Xbox Series X|S – R399 (Loot)
Immortals Fenyx Rising delivers a highly-enjoyable and interesting-spin on the well-treaded Greek mythology and ever-evolving action-adventure mechanics. The open-world, while a little barren, is full of interesting locales which can be climbed and explored at your will, and this ‘see-it-and-climb-it’ approach is fantastic and manages to capture the wonder of the game’s premise.
Mafia Trilogy | Xbox One – R299 (Makro)
We’ve been long advocates of promoting the sorely underrated Mafia franchise, and with the Mafia Trilogy on special from Makro, you’ve got to dive in! While Mafia II: Definitive Edition isn’t the best remaster around, the completely built-from-the-ground-up remake of Mafia 1, along with the brutally awesome Mafia 3 included, this is well worth the entry price.
The Outer Worlds | Xbox One – R299 (Raru)
The Outer Worlds was undoubtedly one of the lesser-appreciated games of 2019, and shamefully so, as Obsidian’s new sci-fi action-RPG delivers one of the best experiences in the genre, with great gunplay, a streamlined and diverse world, and a humorous tone which will leave you wanting more even after the 20-odd hour main story.
