Springbok and newly-acquired Toulon winger Bryan Habana is known for taking on some challenges with regards to his speed, and the 30-year old has tested his pace against an A380 super-jumbo.
Habana was tasked with racing the plane across the ground as it picked up speed in preparation for its take-off.
“It was a tough test of man versus machine. Once the A380 is on full throttle it picks up speed very rapidly,” said Habana.
“I think this has got to rank up there with some of the craziest things I have had to do.
“I’d definitely say I’m up for the challenge… I can make South Africa proud,” said the winger.
Bryan Habana raced British Airways’ A380 in celebration that customers can now book onto the A380 to fly to Johannesburg from 12 February, 2014.
This isn’t Habana’s first highly-publicised race, as the South African flyer pitted himself against a Cheetah in 2007 for a good cause.
