We take a look at the biggest and best sporting moments from this past weekend.

This past weekend was an absolute cracker for sports. Between the Hong Kong Sevens, Super Rugby and the Premier League, we were treated to some spectacular moments; so much so that we decided to bolster our usual 7 picks to 9. So, without further ado, here are the 9 best sports moments you may have missed this past weekend:

Tuwai’s over-the-shoulder pass

Fiji’s playmaker Jerry Tuwai was in full force at the Hong Kong Sevens, and delivered a brilliant over-the-shoulder pass for Nasoko to score against Canada.

The perfect team goal

Manchester City showcased their team chemistry with a stellar team-goal that included 20 passes and touches from all 11 players, culminating in one spectacular goal.

Baker bags three

The USA’s leathal strike weapon Perry Baker put on a show at the Hong Kong Sevens, scoring a hat-trick against Scotland.

Norton’s record-breaker

Dan Norton became the all time top try scorer in Hong Kong, notching up his 245th try on the Sevens World Series.

Long-range beauty

Wesley Vali scored an acrobatic try in the corner for Papua New Guinea on the opening day of the Hong Kong Sevens.

Cronje’s trickery

Kings flyhalf was in great form for the PE-based side against the Western Force, but his best moments came when he pulled off a little bit of trickery and put a grubber kick through for Malcolm Jaer to score.

Chiefs go the distance

The Chiefs were up to their usual shenanigans, running from all over the field. And the New Zealanders used some brilliant handling skills to score a breathtaking 90 metre try against the Stormers.

Offload of the season

Stormers winger Dillyn Leyds delivered arguably the best try assist of the season, with his no-look behind-the-back flick pass in the match at Newlands against the Chiefs. Also, he did it while sitting down.

Firmino’s cannonball

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino came off the bench and smashed home a half-volley from a long ball behind the defence to put Liverpool 2-1 up over Stoke.
