Sharks scrumhalf Cobus Reinach has been called into the Springbok training squad in Cape Town.
The Sharks number 9 will fill in the gap left by the Bulls’ Jano Vermaak, who was injured during the match against the Bulls and Cheetahs in Pretoria on Saturday, 13 April 2013.
“With Francois Hougaard also unable to train, we needed cover at scrumhalf and decided to bring Cobus to Cape Town,” said Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer.
“He was the next scrumhalf on our list and has been very good for The Sharks this season.
“He’s still young and has a promising career ahead of him, so it would be good to get to know him better and also for him to see what our plans are for the season.”
Reinach has been in good form throughout the 2013 Super Rugby season and his inclusion into the Bok camp should add some depth and speed to the breakdowns.
