Sundowns and Pirates are two of South Africa’s most historically prestigious clubs, but sadly, both their PSL seasons aren’t quite matching their illustrious legacies.
That said, Sundowns started off that potential ascent with a convincing 3-1 victory over Pirates during the week, but the score line isn’t what most fans will remember – instead it’s likely going to be Hlompho Kekana’s absolutely brilliant 13th minute strike:
Spotting the keeper off his line, the Sundowns midfielder saw an opportunity to lash a long shot in. His instincts were proven correct as his high-drive from the centre circle flew straight toward the goal, and despite getting a hand to the ball, it’s a goal he’s not going to forget very soon.
Opposition keepers should take note; stay firmly on your line and keep your wits about you if Hlompho’s in midfield, he can punish you from almost any distance.
Sundowns have three games in hand, so they could still manage to work their way way back up the log if they get some key victories in their upcoming fixtures.
