Some tight encounters, brilliant individual performances, and dramatic moments made for an incredibly entertaining weekend of sport. But with so many great highlights, we decided to rank out top 5; so without further ado, here are our picks of the best sporting moments from the past weekend:

Springboks’ screamer

While the Springboks’ performance against Argentina in the Rugby Championship left a lot to be desired, South Africa did some out of the gates firing, scoring a great try in the opening minutes of the match.

Neymar’s free-kick

Neymar lead his team to Olympic glory against Germany in the men’s final at Rio 2016, and one of his standout moments was his pint-point free-kick to put Brazil 1-0 up.

Savea’s classy finish

The All Blacks demolished the Wallabies 42-8, scoring 6 tries, with one of the standouts being Julian Savea’s 5-pointer in the 58th minute.

Canterbury’s class

The defending NZ domestic champions, Canterbury, scored a thrilling try in their encounter against Auckland in Christchurch.

Braithwaite’s bender

In an almost identical goal to Neymar’s free-kick, Toulouse striker Martin Braithwaite scored a brilliant set-piece goal, curling his shot over and around the wall to beat Bordeaux’s keeper.
