Some tight encounters, brilliant individual performances, and dramatic moments made for an incredibly entertaining weekend of sport. But with so many great highlights, we decided to rank out top 5; so without further ado, here are our picks of the best sporting moments from the past weekend:
Fifita’s amazing hurdle
Wellington Lions loose forward Vaea Fifita found an athletic way to avoid the attentions of Counties Manukau first-five Piers Francis in Pukekohe on Friday night.
De Bruyne’s cool finish
Kevin de Bryune was first on the scoresheet in the highly-anticipated Manchester derby, calmly slotting a great goal thanks to a pinpoint through-ball from the midfield.
Paul Jordaan’s brilliant try
Former Sharks centre Paul Jordaan continued his impressive form since moving to La Rochelle, finishing off an excellent long-range try against Lyon.
Cordero cuts up the All Blacks
PInt-sized Argentina wing Santiago Cordero scored the first try against the All Blacks thanks to some impressive continuity by the South Americans.
The Springboks didn’t have a great game against the Wallabies, but one of the standout moments came from an Adriaan Strauss intercept, which the backline turned into a great counter-attacking option, with Elton Jantjies pushing through a kick for Johan Goosen.
