If you think that Reds coach Richard Graham would punt an Australian player as world’s best fullback, you’d be wrong.
When asked who he thought was the world’s premier No 15 at the moment, Graham said that Highlanders and All Black ace Ben Smith was top of the list.
“Ben Smith is, for me, the best fullback in the world on form,” Graham said. “I think his ability to find space, carry the ball in both hands and set up people around him is very, very good.”
Ben Smith and Australian counterpart Israel Folau have undoubtedly been the in-form fullbacks in the Super Rugby competition, both showcasing their devastating running abilities and try-scoring capabilities this year.
