Prolific rapper ‘Lil Wayne, recently opened up in an interview with MTV about the direction of his forthcoming record. The project, titled Devol, is set to be an album of love songs, or as probably more accurately put by the rapper himself; “It’s my version of love songs,” he says. “What I mean by my version of love songs is they’re not saying ‘I love you.'”
The songs where written whilst the rapper was serving time in Rikers Island Jail in 2010.
Jail-bird love songs always tug one’s deepest heart-strings, or at least they usually do. It will be interesting to see if Young Weezy can pull this one off.
