This Is Why You Need To See Adam Sandler’s Pixels Movie This Weekend [WIN]
Adam Sandler stars in Pixels – where Pac-Man appears to have invaded planet Earth, and here’s why you should take notice.
It’s hard not to be lured to Adam Sandler’s movies. His endearing and everyday-guy approach has garnered him many fans in SA, but this time he’s taking on something vastly different from the familiar rom-com scenario, and it’s hitting South African cinemas this weekend.
Sandler is leading a star-packed cast in Pixels, the new movie from Home Alone and Mrs Doubtfire director Chris Columbus. And it’s looking pretty amazing.
There’s a cool idea behind this one too. It tells of aliens, who pick up feeds of classic videogames. Unfortunately, when they see the likes of Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, said aliens get the wrong idea, and take that as a declaration of war on planet Earth.
Sandler plays a videogame expert who leads the fightback. And from the trailer, this one looks to be a huge jolt of gaming nostalgia and comedy rolled into in one.
Here’s the full synopsis:
In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, using the video games as the models for their assaults – and now-U.S. President Cooper must call on his old-school arcade friends to save the world from being destroyed by PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, and Space Invaders. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patte, a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.
If that’s not awesome enough, Casio has decided to share some of its very own digital creations with some lucky fans. There are 2 Casio G-Shock watches up for grabs. All you have to do to is email competitions@menstuff.co.za and correctly answer to the following question:
