Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 May Have Its New Director

A new director will step up to helm the second film in the new rebooted half-shell-heroes’ franchise.

The latest big screen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outing has proven to be a sizeable hit, with its box office tally to date coming in at nearly $500m (around R5.7 billion) worldwide. We at MenStuff loved the film, but considering the rather negative chatter the film from some critics, it’s no small achievement.

Understandably, Paramount ordered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 very quickly, and the film will be with us in two years, but it’ll be needing a new director.

Jonathan Liebesman, who helmed this year’s Turtles film, has stepped aside as director of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. And in his place? Well, it looks like the next Turtles director will be Dave Green.

Green was the man who helmed last summer’s Earth To Echo, which was his feature debut, and The Wrap reports that he’s in talks with Paramount for the Turtles 2 job.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has currently being earmarked for a June 2016 release.
