Spider-man Heading For Another Reboot?

Amazing Spider-man

Could everyone’s favourite web-head get another lead actor to sedgeway into the Avengers?

While the two recent films from the The Amazing Spider-man franchise have already taken us down the road of the web-slinger’s origin again, it seems that another reboot of the friendly neighbourhood superhero might be on the cards.

A new report, according to HitFlix, suggests that Sony is rebooting Spider-Man, delaying Sinister Six and talking to Marvel about Spidey joining The Avengers.

The report insinuates that Sony will use the Sinister Six movie, which is still planned, to bring in a new Spider-Man, after it was reported that The Amazing Spider-man 3 was pushed back to 2018. So this could mean bye-bye to Andrew Garfield.

Furthermore, it’s reportedly said that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 could be cancelled altogether, and that the firm is in negotiations with Marvel to allow Spider-Man to join The Avengers.

“While I can’t get the confirmations I need to verify the story, I’m hearing that there are some very cool ‘Spider-Man’ plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom’s minds,” wrote HitFlix’s Drew McWeeny.,

Time will tell, but Sony and Marvel will have to be very tactical about putting a new Spider-man on the screen, or how to integrate the existing Andrew Garfield iteration if he were to stay with the franchise.

How is this possible? Spiderman hasn’t worked out on the big screen, they should move the franchise back to the small screen. The Spiderman story lines aren’t hard hitting enough to engage at the scale of a movie. It has so many diverse plots that would work better in a mini-series format, maybe like Gotham. The plots/characters develop over time. It seemed as if both sets of movies (the Andrew Garfield ones and the Toby McGuire ones) were appreciated by much younger audiences than what they were aimed at.
