3 Awesome Movies Releasing in SA this Weekend

Sausage Party movie

We take a look at the big movie releases hitting cinemas across SA.

This week at the cinema sees a scientific experiment gone wrong, a real life story of a genuine American hero, and some foul-mouthed food. Here’s our picks for the movies releasing Friday, 9 September 2016:

Morgan

Fantastic Four‘s Kate Mara stars in this supernatural thriller, which sees a corporate risk-management consultant who is sent to a top-secret location to assess and investigate a terrifying accident. Discovering that the event was provoked by a seemingly innocent artificial being who was made in a laboratory, she’s forced to curb her fascination and determine whether or not to terminate the “human” known as Morgan.

Sully

Directed by Clint Eastwood, Sulley tells the story of American pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger (played by Tom Hanks), whose heroism captured the world’s attention when he landed US Airways Flight 1549 by gliding the plane along the water in the Hudson River off Manhattan in New York City. After a troubled take-off, Sully’s bravery and emergency landing managed to save all 155 of his passengers.

Sausage Party

Long-time passion project of Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg, Sausage Party, an R-rated animated film, arrives this week. Frank is a sausage, whose peaceful existence among various groceries in a supermarket is interrupted when he and his friends are picked by a customer. Once a life goal, they soon discover the disturbing truth when the woman takes them home to prepare a meal. Faced with torture and death, he and his buddies hatch a plan to escape.
