Following the announcement that Josh Brolin would be taking on the role of the world-destroying villain, Thanos, in the Avengers: Infinity War movies, the actor has spoken about what sold him on the monstrous role.

Brolin will take on an ambitious role in Marvel cinematic universe, but one which he is reveling in. “I love the idea of Thanos” said the 46-year old actor to Coming Soon, adding that “ultimately, it’s Thanos against everyone. Why wouldn’t you do that?”

So why did he take the role on in the first place? That’d be because of a man called Louis D’Esposito, the co-president of Marvel Studios, who happens to be an old friend of Brolin’s.

“He called me up and started talking about this thing. It was nice because I could intimately talk to him about it. What I liked. What I didn’t like about the whole idea of it… It was really exciting because of the possibilities that it could be come. Not as an idea or as a blockbuster, but just as something different. It’s a character mentality”.

We still don’t know for certain in which film we’ll see Thanos again, but the betting is on Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. Avengers: Infinity War Part One is in cinemas in May 2018.
